OKRA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to improve the ability and availability of recycling by providing education and referral services about integrated solid waste management, including reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting.

OKRA serves as a central communications hub, facilitating exchanges between  businesses, industries, government entities, public and private organizations, schools, and citizens about recycling.
